Arms of Others
[R.C.M.P., 1990, 90” x 62” (229cm x 158cm)]
During this period, William also turned his attention to the Coats of Arms of other institutions and countries - both in standard form and deconstructed.
The preliminary drawing of the above deconstructed RCMP Coat of Arms is in the collection of the Art Bank.

Some close ups and a bonus drawing of a deconstructed Arms of the Bahamas:
He also created similar works of the arms of an interesting assortment of organisations (the last one is the Pope)…
Missing Pieces:
William also did some heraldry-inspired work using tinctures and hatchings - the official colours permitted in heraldry and the monochromatic patterns used to represent them. Unfortunately, there are no images of this work; however, I do have a tattoo that was partially inspired by it that uses the hatchings…that will have to do.
